Application · Hole drilling

Drill glass with no bit, no pressure and no cracks.

Laser drilling opens holes in glass with no drill bit and no mechanical pressure, so there are no burrs and no cracks at the hole. A no-contact process drills irregular shapes that mechanical tools struggle with, and an in-line servo system places each hole to within a few microns at production speed.

What the process does

Built for laser drilling.

01

No bit, no mechanical pressure

The laser drills without touching the glass, avoiding the tool-induced cracks that lower yield on mechanical drilling.

02

Clean holes, no burrs

Holes come out with no burrs and no edge cracking, often ready to use without secondary finishing.

03

Irregular hole shapes

The beam drills irregular and freeform hole shapes that mechanical drilling cannot easily produce.

04

Micron accuracy in-line

An in-line servo system places each hole to within plus or minus 3 microns at high speed, and links into a production line.
